Meet Courtney Causey
Licensed Professional Counselor, ADHD-CCSP| Texas LPC #68479
In-person in Collin County and telehealth across Texas
Hi, I'm Courtney.
I'm glad you're here.
I was born and raised in Texas and have called McKinney home for most of my life. I have been married for 17 years and have two children that I have the joy and privilege of providing home education for. My husband and I are also houseparents for six adults with disabilities, a role we chose intentionally and have lived out for most of our marriage. It is not a job for us. It is a calling.
I tell you that because I think it matters who your therapist is as a person, not just what degrees they hold. I understand caregiving from the inside. I understand what it is to pour yourself out for others while quietly wondering who is pouring into you. That lived experience shapes how I show up in every session. And it is also why you will not find judgment here.
Whether you birthed in a hospital or at home with a midwife, whether your children attend traditional school or you home educate, whether you are a stay-at-home mom or a working mom, whether you chose to remain single or your family looks nothing like what anyone expected - none of that is something I have an opinion about. The choices you have made about how to live your life, build your family, and show up in the world are yours. My only investment is in you and your wellbeing. You get to make the choices that are right for your family. I am here to support the person making them.
Whatever you are carrying when you walk through this door, you are safe to bring all of it.
I received my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University in 2011 and have worked in both structured treatment settings and private practice. Early in my career I served as the primary clinician for the FAA's Human Intervention Motivation Study (HIMS) program, working with approximately 40 commercial pilots being monitored for return-to-duty clearance. That experience taught me what it means to hold high-stakes clinical responsibility with precision, compassion, and accountability.
I have also worked alongside birth professionals supporting new mothers through their journey into motherhood, spent years providing direct care and crisis support for adults with complex disabilities, and built a private practice rooted in whole-person care. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and a certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP, Evergreen).
I don't just treat symptoms. I want to understand systems.
Before we talk about goals or coping strategies, I want to understand you completely. Your sleep. Your nutrition. Your hormones. Your energy. Your history. Your body. Your relationships. I have found that what looks like anxiety is sometimes a thyroid. What looks like depression is sometimes a deficiency. What looks like a relationship problem is sometimes exhaustion that has never been addressed.
That is why I begin every new client relationship with a comprehensive, physiologically-informed assessment. I look at the whole picture before we build a plan. And I actively collaborate with physicians, nutritionists, chiropractors, and integrative health providers because I believe the best care is coordinated care.
My approach is also trauma-informed. This means I understand that many of the struggles people bring to therapy are rooted in experiences that shaped the nervous system long before the presenting problem appeared. We move at your pace, and nothing is pushed before you are ready.
Cultural sensitivity is equally central to how I work. I recognize that your background, your faith, your family structure, your values, and your community are not obstacles to work around. They are part of who you are, and good therapy honors that rather than asking you to leave any of it at the door.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, and Solution-Focused Therapy alongside formal assessment tools including the GAD-7, PHQ-9, and Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. Sessions are available in person in Collin County and via telehealth across Texas through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.

About Arrow House
The Arrow House name was born out of a desire to see individuals and families strengthened and fortified, for the good of their own personhood and the greater community.
The arrow is often viewed as a symbol of both struggle and triumph. And doesn't that kind of explain life? We can feel full of struggle and conflict, and we don't always know how to get to the other side where we can experience triumph. This is where I would be honored to enter into your life story, to help spur you on toward chapters of triumph.
Arrow House Counseling is committed to strong ethics, unconditional positive regard, and compassionate care.
You deserve care that sees all of you.
If you have been carrying more than you can hold and you are ready to be truly seen and supported, I would love to connect. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation and let's talk about whether working together feels like the right fit.
