Privacy Policies

Your privacy matters deeply to me. Everything you share in our sessions is held in strict confidence. The therapeutic relationship is protected by law, and I take that protection seriously. Creating a space where you feel genuinely safe to be honest is foundational to everything we do together.

Information shared in the course of our work together will not be disclosed to anyone without your written permission, except in the specific circumstances required by law described below.

While confidentiality is the foundation of our therapeutic relationship, there are limited situations in which I am legally and ethically required to share information without your consent. These exceptions exist to protect your safety and the safety of others.

Exceptions to confidentiality include:

  • Imminent danger to self or others. If there is reason to believe that you or someone else is in immediate danger, I am required to contact medical and/or law enforcement personnel.

  • Suspicion of abuse or neglect. If there is reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect of a child, an elderly person, or a person with a disability, I am required to report this to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS).

  • Sexual exploitation by a therapist. If a client discloses sexual exploitation by a current or former therapist, I am required to report this to the District Attorney in the Texas county where the exploitation occurred.

  • Court subpoena. If I receive a valid court order requiring the disclosure of records or testimony, I am legally obligated to comply.

Outside of these specific circumstances, your confidentiality is fully protected. I will always make every effort to discuss any concerns with you directly before taking action whenever it is safe and appropriate to do so.

If you have any questions about confidentiality or your privacy rights, please do not hesitate to reach out. Understanding and trusting this process matters, and I am happy to talk through any questions you have before or during our work together.
